Debt Settlement & Debt Negotiation Programs

Debt Settlement is often referred to as Debt Negotiation, but they are in fact the same program. A Debt Settlement (Debt Negotiation) Program in a nut shell, is the process of you make monthly payments into a trust account until enough funds have been saved to settle with one creditor, then our we negotiate with your creditors to settle your debt for less than the full amount you owe. Then the process repeats its self until all the the creditors have been repaid.

The first step in a Debt Settlement Program involves you compiling a list of all your creditors and the amounts owed to each of them. The next step in a Debt Settlement Program involves you and your credit counselor completing a budget worksheet. Your total income and expenditures (mortgage or rent payments, car payments, cost of living expenses, etc.) are all totaled together. Then you and your credit counselor determine the maximum amount of money you have available for debt repayment. In next step of a Debt Settlement Program we will negotiate with your creditors to to reach settlements for less than the balance you currently owe. Your creditors are willing to settle for such a small amount because they know if you file for bankruptcy they will collect nothing. It will usually take 3 to 6 months to negotiate the first settlement. In a Debt Settlement Program all of your accounts will usually be settled in in 12 to 36 months. The finally step of a Debt Settlement Program is for you to make all the required payments agreed to under the program. Debt Settlement Programs are more flexible than other debt relief programs and a late or missed payment will not result in you loosing the program. However it will take you longer to eliminate your debt and a good faith effort on your part is necessary. It is important for you to understand that participating in a Debt Settlement Program will still impact your credit score, but once you complete the program your balances on all account in the program will show a $0 balance and you can begin the process of rebuilding your credit.

What you should know before you hire a Debt Settlement Company:

How do they charge their fees?

Most Debt Settlement Companies charge 15% of your total debt as a fee and they collect those fees upfront. Because they charge their fees upfront most of what you pay into their program for the first 12 to 18 months is taken by them in fees. This gives you almost no chance of completing the program and there is no incentive for them to do their job. In our Debt Settlement Program you pay a small enrollment fee to go on the program, then the bulk of our fee is based on the amount forgiven by your creditors, in other words the amount we save you. We only collect the fee once a settlement has been reached. This allows you to start saving for settlements right away and allows you to get out of debt much faster.

Not all Debt Settlement Companies are the same. If you are to the point where you owe thousands of dollars in unsecured debt and you can no longer afford your payments, you may want to turn to our Debt Settlement Program for relief.
